"...see and feel the flow of time"

The artist, Stanislav Fomenok, is one of the brightest representatives of realistic art. He obtained his art education in classical realism, having graduated from the Academy of Arts of Kiev in Ukraine. Already in the early works of the artist, the features of his artistic style and art culture could be seen, oriented on Impressionism – a free wide touch, laconism of figurative language of plein air painting, vivid colours and light, elaborated plastic and colour structure of the works. The artist offers a broad, generalized representation of the world around him, showing the ability to see poetry in the ordinary themes of the daily life.

Stanislav Fomenok is a lyricist and romanticist with a pronounced natural lyrical gift. First of all S. Fomenok is an artist. His element is the oil painting. He has the ability of a colourist, who delicately senses the influence of colour, the plastic of the composition and the colour scheme on the emotional perception of the image of the painting. The world of colour in his paintings is a world of poetry, filled with metaphoricity and fabulousness of the natural environment. This is why his works are characterized by their truthfulness and unique lyricism.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens...

Ecclesiastes, 3:1

The themes of some art exhibitions are formulated very simply - the subject or reason and the author, for example, "Vadym Sidur's sculpture", "Vrubel and Kyiv. To the 155th anniversary of the artist's birthday ", etc. are indicated. Other names for exhibitions are not so easy to appear, through some associations, bring up philosophical headline-making subjects and claim to their ambiguous interpretation. Thus, the exhibition "Stanislav Fomenok. The Time View" and the catalogue of the same name that was created for it belong to the category of projects that envisage variational interpretations of the in-depth concept claimed in the title.

It's hard to imagine our life without a clock or a watch. The human wish to know the time, to follow it appeared long ago. Suffice it to recall the sun and water clock of the ancient world or the medieval sand and tower clock. And the achievements of modern science and technology have allowed the creation of quartz and atomic mechanisms with an accuracy of up to 0.000001 fraction of a second. However, this only applies to measuring time. But the very concept is diverse. It is a historical epoch and a psychological moment, an infinite philosophical category and a wonderful moment, which one always wants to continue. People of different specialties long ago made numerous attempts to comprehend the multiplicity of the concept of time, - after all, its flow is irreversible.
